FAQ: When should I schedule my child for their first dental visit?
The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and the American Academy of Pediatrics both recommend that children see a dentist when the first tooth erupts, and no later than 12 months of age. These early visits are very focused on preventing cavities before they ever start. These visits are often performed in a parent or caregiver’s lap.
